ONSITE WASTEWATER SYSTEM DESIGN
“KEEP IT SIMPLE”
Building a new home or replacing an existing sewage system? Kootenay Septic Worx provides complete design services throughout British Columbia. Today there is a vast array of treatment technologies and products that may be employed in the design of onsite sewage systems and we are up to date on all of them. Many of these new products achieve superior treatment at a much lower cost than tradition methods employed to achieve the same level of treatment. “Keeping It Simple” while exceeding code standards is the strategy we employ for every design; this statagey lends to lower cost, less chance of operational issues, and less required maintenance. We design and install every system as if it were our own, quality and reliability without excessive cost and complication. We will determine what options are suitable based on your unique site and soils assessment, discuss the options, and provide a design that is safe, effective, long lasting and economical.
How the process works and what to expect:
1) Contact us to book an Onsite Site and Soils Assessment of your property.
2) Prior to the Onsite Site and Soils Assessment, you will be sent a property declaration form and a list of information/documents that are required to complete the design process.
3) An Onsite Site and Soil Assessment is then carried out. This assessment consists of confirming location of structures, setback verifications, review of any conflicting covenants and/or easements listed on the property title, proposed location of sewage system components, excavation of observation pits, soil profile analysis and soil percolation tests.
4) Information from our site and soils assessment is then compiled and from there, a list of suitable system options along with pros/cons and cost evaluations will be provided to you for your consideration.
5) Once an option has been selected, we will begin drawing up the official design. This usually takes a few days to complete after which the design will be stamped and submitted to the BC Health Authority for approval.
6) Once approved, you will be provided with a copy of the design and a Record of Sewerage System (RSS) document which you may submit to the building department in order to obtain your building permit.
